Why don’t you give your hands and nails a spa treatment before your vacation? And don’t say you haven't got the time! You can do it very easily at home just by using your usual body and face products and it will just take about 1 hour. Just follow these easy steps and you’ll have the smoothest and best looking hands this summer.
Step 1 – cleansing and smoothing (10 minutes)
1 Remove nail polish and shape your nails. It’s easier to polish the nails before the hand bath when the nails are dry. The best nail file is the one made of glass as can happen with a polisher made of sandpaper. 2 Fill a bowl with hot water and some Hydrorelax Bath Gel from Darphin. Put your hands in the water and relax for about five minutes. Hydrorelax Bath Gel has ingredients of lotus, waterlily extracts and essential oils from lavender and sandalwood. 3 Take your hands from the water and dry them with a soft towel. Step 2 – nails and cuticles (5 minutes) 4 To achieve smooth and nice cuticles, use Darphins Aromatic Purifying Balm. This smoothing and purifying balm restores your radiance. Put a small lump at the bottom on each nail and massage it in to your cuticles. The balm's key ingredients are tea tree, lavender, sage, geranium and grapefruit essential oils; hazelnut and St. John’s wort oils and beeswax. 5 Wrap the end of cuticle stick with cotton wool and gently push back your cuticles. Trim off any hangnails with cuticle scissors. Use the other end of the cuticle stick to carefully clean under your nails. The cuticle stick may be wrapped in cotton and dampened with nail polish remover to clean under nails and remove nail polish from cuticle area. Step 3 – exfoliating (10 minutes) 6 It’s time to get smooth and nice hands. At a salon they use a exfoliating AHA-treatment, at home you can use Darphins Hydrorelax Exfoliating Body Cream, it will give you almost the same result. Except from Seaweeds the cream contains bamboo and lotus extracts and essential oils from rose and lavender 7 Put some Hydrorelax Exfoliating Body Cream on your hands and massage it in and feel how the creams seaweed polishing grains gently renew your skin’s surface as it lifts away dead cells and impurities to reveal a smoother, radiant and healthier-looking skin.
8 To get shiny nails, it’s time to use the nail buffer on your nails. Step 4 – mask and massage (15 minutes) This step could be a little bit tricky to do yourself, but don’t hesitate to try, it’s worth it! 9 Start by putting two towels in hot water for a while. Take them up and squeeze the water out of them and let them chill while you focus on your hands. 10 Take the Hydrating Kiwi Mask from Darphin that you usually use for your face and use it on your hands and wrists. Wrap the hot towels round your hands and relax for about 10 minutes. 11 The Hydrating Kiwi Mask is a refreshing mask that saturates dry, parched skin with shea butter, pomegranate, mango, kiwi extract and Vitamin E and leaves your hands soft and supple with a renewed dewy glow. 12 After ten minutes, take away the towels and dry your hands and take away the rest of the mask. Step 5 – rebuild (5 minutes) 13 The last step for your hands is to rebuild them with a nice hand cream. The Darphin Aromatic Hand Cream includes Vitamin C and E and is quickly-absorbed. The hand cream is enriched with mulberry and grape extracts, sweet almond and cotton oil and Lemon essential oil. It helps you to nourish and protect skin against environmental factors. 14 Squeeze a dime-sized amount of Aromatic Hand Cream onto the palm and rub all over both hands and wrists. 15 Don’t forget to use sun protection on your hands. They are as sensitive to the sun as the rest of your body. If you don’t use an SPF, you’ll risk getting dark aging spots later. Step 6 – finish (15 minutes) 16 The last step for your nails is to get some nail polish on them. This summer the nail polish should be playful and you should use them to match your clothes of the day. The colours are pastel, metallic or rich colours. 17 It takes time for nail polish to dry. Apply it at least half hour before going to sleep. The “heart” of the nail polish takes in fact around one hour before getting perfectly dry.
18 For best result use two layers of polish, the colour will be richer and look better. 19 Use a top coat for a longer lasting result. 20 Do not use alcohol or nail polish remover to fluidify the nail polish, they do nothing else than make the nail polish matte. After the use of the nail polish, take care to clean the rim of the bottle’s neck and firmly close the lid. 21 Nouba has small bottles of polish, 7 ml, and that is great if you want to buy a colour just for the season. We used the summer colour.
