Today most men do not have to wear suit and tie to work, and even if they wear a suit it is quite common not to wear a tie and keep it more casual. For this seasons parties the tie is a must though - elegance is back!

With grey beeing the "color" of the season for men it is important to blend that with a strong colored tie. I have always liked the combination of a grey suit with a nice pale pink tie myself. I have brown hair though and this is something you should take into consideration - pale pink is normally not very nice on blond people (goes for sweaters and shirts as well). A strong color like red is obviously an option as well and will fit nicely with the black suit as well.

White ties can be cool but are also a tad tricky since they in Sweden normally are reserved for close family members going to a funeral. Even though people are less conservative these days you should be aware of this.

Personally I have always prefered wide ties since I feel I canot really pull off the thin ones, but on the right guy, in the right suit, they are way cool.
