After learning everything about how to treat your skin to reach perfection in more of long term it has become time for what most guys would think of as rather scary... makeup. A better way of looking at it is to see it as… a quick fix!
Even though you work hard with your skin care products there will always be days when what you see in the mirror is not… desirable and this is when you have the option of a quick fix – with some makeup. You might ask yourself why guys should do this. Well – why should women look perfect and not men? Imagine if you are about to do a big presentation at work. Do you really want to look less than perfect? What you look like is just as important as what you say. The big difference between how men and women use makeup is that women use it to enhance their look whilst men use it to cover up and look natural (though in a perfect kinda way…). What products to use? Most guys probably get nervous just looking towards a makeup department in a shop. My theory is that this is the case because you haven´t got a clue what the stuff is and what to do with it hence a short guide. Concealer A concealer is used for the basic basic cover up. Spots and blemishes can be covered up with some concealer. They come in different shades – because people’s skin tone varies. You have to find one that is good for you. Foundation The foundation is normally used after a concealer. The first covers out specific marks whilst the foundation is used to even out the colour in the whole face – to make the face look perfect! Fou ndations can be either liquid or powder. Most guys probably find it easier to use the liquid one (you can actually use your fingers to apply though brush/sponge is preferable). If you want to go for a powder it should be a mineral one which is less likely to show. Bronzer The sun is the reason for the existence of this product. When you are out in the sun it will give you a nice tan but as long as you are not in a tanning bed it probably won’t be even but will highlight parts of your face. The bronzer is used to give this effect “artificially”. These three products is the base in what guys need. Even the bronzer is a bit of advanced course but… hey hoh – we all want to be the best at what we do or? Apart from this you will find products like mascara and eye liner. They will give some extra strength to your eyes but if you are a beginner – don’t give a crap about them just like you should avoid everything with colours… like eye shadow, nail polish, lip stick etc – this is for the real pros and… women. With a bit of practice you will get more knowledge and can become more daring and experimental. How to apply As always – get the right tools for the job before you can start w orking. Fantastic thing is that when you buy this you will get all the advice and help you need as well. Here is a bit of basic though. You start with using a concealer or the foundation of choice and with a concealer brush (fingers can do the trick as well – make sure they are clean) you cover up spots and blemishes. Dark circles under the eyes can also be covered up a bit extra with a concealer or the foundation. It is important to remember that the colour under the eyes should not be too light. Then the dark circles will show more and that is definitely not what you are after. After you have done this basic job it is time to even it out and this is why you use the foundation in the whole face as well as part of the neck. If you have a liquid foundation a small sponge can be the perfect tool. Make sure it is even and can´t really be spotted – then you have don’t the perfect job. If not – try again – practice makes perfect. Now you have some idea about this new thing. Male makeup or correction (way better name) is increasing loads so make sure not to be the last man standing with not using it. A final tip before you gets going. Most women have practiced this since they were around 13-14 = they are hell of a lot better at this then you are. Ask for help and advice – they will be delighted!
