After all moaning is a national sport of Sweden so I thought I would better have a bit of that in my first column for the year. Don’t worry – there will be some sun shining as well…
The thing that really annoys me is the playing around with the seasons. At the moment all fashion magazines are filled with pictures of trends for the spring, in some cases even for the summer. Shopping tip after shopping tip about cute colorful spring dresses. Problem is… though lack of snow (at least in Stockholm) January and February are still winter! We all know that February most often comes with some tough winter weather before we finally see the first snow drops blooming sometime in March. My questions are… Why the stress? And who will remember the spring garments that are written about now when it is actually spring? After all – January is the time for all the big sales. These last days in January are the time to find the best clothes of the season to the best prices. All the cool and trendy shops have fantastic offers and sales at the moment, not the least on garments from good Swedish designers. With this obviously comes that February will have to be the month when we can enjoy and show off these items before the winter season closes and we have to put them away for 6-9 months. So – enjoy the season that is. Overdose on all the nice things we can do now, cocoon, treat yourself with a home spa, shop on the sales or dress up and party (somewhere inside and warm). Soon enough spring will be here with other treats and activities. Myself I will enjoy the end of January with Stockholm Fashion Week; to get a preview of next winter and autumn. For all in fashion the two fashion weeks are really the highlight of the year – to get inspired by all creativity and talent is really amazing. After that I will finish shooting all the spring and summer clothes that we will start present to you from March – when spring is really here!
