This season it is the Danish designer Nikoline Liv Andersen who is the winner of the prestigious +46 Award. The competition was opened up for graduate designers from all over the Nordic region.
For the past six years Nikoline has occupied herself with several exhibitions in Berlin and Reykjavik, acquired a degree in illustration, received a scholarship from the Danish Government Art Fund and held an internship with John Galliano at Dior. Part of the price is an individual show that will take place on August 16.
“I am in constant battle with the lack of fantasy in the adult world so I try to emphasize that conflict in my collections. The naive and sometimes a bit romantic designs get a certain edge when placed in contrast with reality”, explains Nikoline Liv Andersen when quizzed by +46 on the forthcoming collection.
