SFW Aug 2007

Read the Editors diary from Stockholm Fashion Week. Is it really as glamorous and fun as everybody who is not allowed in thinks, or the people invited want it to look like?

August 14

8.30am
I finally got out of bed. Am ever so tired and still Monday was only warm up for the week. Last night I covered “Guldknappen” that was awarded to Ann-Sofie Back. It was a really nice event at the new Bonnier Art Hall. The venue is not very spacious so it got Champagne ready to servenice and crowded with a mix of celebs and fashionistas, all enjoying the well chilled champagne.

Ann-Sofie is a fellow Londoner and though she is well known in the fashion industry here, not many other people know who she is. In London you only have to pop down to Selfridges to get a glimpse of her amazing garments (she has got a stand right next to Fifth Avenue Shoe Repair), but then again, Londoners are a bit more daring in general when it comes to fashion. I hope this means that Ann-Sofie becomes more known to the normal fashion shopper here as well because she really deserves it.

Yesterday I was well happy with having been one of the first to publish articles and pictures from the shows (Björn Borg and Ida Sjöstedt). There will be a lot more shows today so I sure hope I will be as quick today – I do want to spoil our readers.

Time to watch Ann-Sofie get interview by TV4’s morning show, before planning the rest of the day.

5.30pm
Wow - haven't had time to write all day - busy, busy, busy. And this though I have been denied access to two shows... for some reason that PR-agency just doesn't like me... we´ll see what we'll have to do about that in the future.

Have a new photographer with me today as well - Simon Groth. I decided to use his pics from the Dagmar show. It really was the best show so far - funky, edgy and supercool. Look at the that site to see a selection of picture - all taken by Simon. Bumped into the ever happy and smiling and fabulour Gunilla Pontén there as well. I am so looking forward to her show tomorrow.

Now it is time to run off to an exhibition before Carin Wester's show. Hopefully a cup of coffee and a fag will be sorted on the way as well ;) After that it is time to move over to Nordic Light Hotel and meet up with the film crew since we are going to sort a video clip from that show.. Hopefully there will be some descent free booze there as well - the lack of that... is not British... I can say that much.. lol

Jessica Mittelton - a favorite and gosh what a smile11.30pm
Finally - the Ed found some free booze, which obviously isn't a good thing when I have to come home and work (hence the spelling mistakes - I blame the ones from earlier on this as well...). After a long day at Berns (no free booze...) and a pleasant show from Carin Wester, me and the photographer Simon went to Nordic Light Hotel to cover Bea Szenfeld.

Bea Szenfeld is definitely a good designer, and she sure is good with media. Unfortunately most people have no idea of who she is - bad consumer - go do your fashion homework. As always Bea put on a phenomenal show as you can see from the pictures from her show. Celeb frequence is always high at her shows as well and I met tons of people. Jessica Mittelton is, as of now, my very favorite stylist. How can anyone have anything negative about a person as lovely as she is - beats me!

Well - the Ed has got to finish some work before getting all that beauty sleep that he is in desperate need of.
