Stockholm Modecenter (Stockholm Fashion Centre) has never really been known for being at the edge when it comes to Stockholm Fashion Week. The new CEO, Klaus Hansen, has most definitely changed that for this season.
This season the three semi decent shows that used to be will be turned into one great. Co-ordinators for the show are the two Swedish stylists Joakim Pettersson and Jonas Hallberg. They both have loads of international experience working with starts like Scarlett Johansson and Giselle Bundchen as well as doing work for Vogue, GQ, ClementsRibiero, Matthew Williamson and Paul Smith.
Joakim and Jonas has also had a look around the new building and has come up with some great ideas, all to make fashion week at fashion centre the best ever. To raise the level further quite a lot of money will be spent on international top models.
“To be an international fashion centre we have to work as one”, says Klaus as an explanation to all the changes. “We have to forget about the past and find a new direction for our work”.
Among other things the tenants will be able to book a private catwalk where they can show their collections to buyers and press. Klaus is happy with all the other events happening around the city during fashion week but wish there would be a bit more of co-operation between the different events. He would also like to see one large fashion show with all the major Swedish brands during fashion week, and with his Danish hands on approach and determination it wouldn’t be a big surprise if that would happen in the near future.
