SFW Jan 2008

The fabulous Miss Blackwell descends upon Stockholm Fashion Week.  Will it be Amazing Grace or Ugly Betty?

Okay, so now it's all over. The sun has risen to a grey day and it's almost as though Stockholm Fashion Week never happened and was all a dream. But of course, it did happen and it was amazing from beginning to end. In all we did 22 shows (okay, I fell asleep in one). And now for a fabulous recap of what to wear this time next year (or right now if you want to be oh-so-now).

Over and over again we saw the jumper dress (black of course) that gather in at the hem tulip style. The shirt dress was also quite prominent, either single or drouble breasted.

The colour is pretty much black, black and then some more black.  However, there was the odd flash of burnt orange, dark blues and browns.

Length are undoubtedly short for skirts, dresses and coats.

There were a lot of  "country" looking knits. Scarves will be just huge (literally) and wrapped around the neck several time. Cardigans will be featuring heavily. They are generally longer (covering your tiny derriere) in chunky knits and, like the shirt dress, single or double breasted. Jumpers are wearing horizontal stripes and are generally in browns and look very cosy.

Coats are short and bell shaped (very feminine).

And leggings are coming back.  Oh yes, get your dancing shoes out and wear your leggings with pride! They are worn either scrunched down or folded over and they should cover the top part of your shoe.

Trousers are pretty much skinny though occasionally we saw them as a straight cut too. Jeans did not feature much. When they did, they were also skinny and high waisted.

One of the surprises was velvet. Don't go bananas with this but just a simple tulip skirt was looking very elegant.

My favourite accessory that I saw was driving gloves. They looked very cute, as though you were about to jump into your Aston Martin. At one of the partys I met the fabulous Katrina and her driving gloves were silver. I was dazzled.

And as ever, the models were weighing in at around four stone though this is a look I would strongly not recommend

But the accessory that my favourite people were wearing was they were so welcoming, charming and lovely to me.  This is definitely one to wear!
