The fabulous Miss Blackwell descends upon Stockholm Fashion Week. Will it be Amazing Grace or Ugly Betty?
Looking back over the week, the amount of hard work that went in to making the Stockholm Fashion Week is really quite inspiring. From the designers to their teams, the models, the photographers, the hotels, the bar men, the organisers, the magazines, the TV companies, the PRs, the guys that seat you, and of course, the lovely little goody bags (thank you Max Factor). If you could capture all that work that had so relentlessy been thrown in, you could light Stockholm for a month. Fact. So what better way to round it all off than with a couple of parties. And that is precisely what we did. On the Thursday night when the final show had strutted its last strut, everyone nipped downstairs in Berns for a little drinky. The place was packed to the rafters with everyone ready to chill and have fun. I won't go into details but I'll just say it was a blast. However, the following morning was not a blast and I felt appalling. All day. However, being the trooper that I am, I was just about able to get ready for the Elle Awards Ceremony. It's amazing what a slap of make up can do. You can be completely dying yet still look bright and breezy. Thank god because I really was pretty much on death row. The Ed had arranged for the wonderful Jean-Pierre Barda to come over for a glass of champagne before we moved on together. I love Jean-Pierre! He's such a lovely chap and he let me try on his new range of sunglasses that will be hitting the streets soon. We arrived at The Grand Hotel and joy of joy, there was a papparazzi line up! It took us about 15 minutes to be zapped by around 40 photographers. I was in heaven. When I'm dying and my life flashes past me, that will be the memory to flash by. All all other memories can go whistle.
Thank you www.finest.se for being part of Nicola´s greatest moment ever. Elle had really gone to town with the rooms all looking so beautiful, flowers everywhere, fantastic music, candles, wonderful food and endless rounds of champagne. And the people! Do you remember when you were little and your fairy tales would tell of a wonderful party full of extremely beautiful people in the most fabulous clothes and everyone was happy, the colours were brighter, the laughter was happier and not a wrinkle in sight. This was reality fairy tale. Amongst the beautiful (and really lovely) people I met were Bea Sienfeld with her utterly fabulous sense of style, Jessica Mittelton a stylist extraordinaire, Lars Wallin the designer with the wonderful clothes for chaps, Joakim Pettersson the wonderful PR guy, and the fabulous Anders and Johann just because they were fabulous and fun. After a lot of schmoozing, we moved onto Opera Cafe for a quick dance and then home. Sigh. What a wonderful, wonderful and magical night. If I had to count my blessings, I would run out of time so I just thank my lucky stars.
