It is time for the Ed to go ”home” to London; the city that I lived in for several years. London is not only my second home but also one of the worlds fashion capitals where a number of Swedes within the industry are well established.
On Thursday night it was time for me and the fabulous Ms Blackwell to go to the London Fashion Week Designer Sale. I have heard so much about this and you even have to get tickets well in advance to even get in. Obviously I had very high expectations. I picked up Ms Blackwell from her office and then we travelled for about a zillion years on the tube to get to South Kensington (tube not always fantastic here but still quicker than travelling overland). When we finally came to the Natural History Museum where the temporary building is set up we were knackered but… we had to have a go of course – this is supposed to be The sale. I have to say that I was fairly disappointed though. I know I was tired but… this sale definitely did not live up to my expectations and it was absolutely not as good as the one we organized early February. Far too many retailers selling their stuff out and not enough young cool designers selling their own garments. It is all very professionally managed though and they have a whole bunch of stalls where you can get make over or hair style tips but all this (even the bars) does not make up for the fact that I was disappointed on the actual sale. Though I was not that impressed it is always good to get some inspiration and next season we will definitely have a few stands with companies that does makeup and hair to liven things up a bit. Apart from that I have not really done much fashionable stuff. A bit of window shopping on Saturday as well as taking pictures for a feature on shopping for Swedish in London (up next week) and for my upcoming project. |
